International Schools in Jakarta

Foreign-curriculum schools in Indonesia are classed as Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama (SPK) - Cooperation Education Schools. A 2014 regulation banned the word "International" from school names, so most schools below have rebranded. Each SPK school must partner with an accredited Indonesian foundation, employ Indonesian staff, and hold a licence from Kemendikdasmen (the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, formed when the old Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology split in October 2024). Domestic accreditation runs through BAN-S/M, separate from the foreign curriculum's own accrediting body.

Accreditation status varies more than school marketing suggests - IB "candidate" is not IB "authorised." Tour the school and confirm current accreditation before enrolling; circumstances change faster than any directory can track. Spot an error or closure? Tell us.

The former International Center for Special Care in Education could not be confirmed as still active; current special-needs options include Saraswati Learning Center and the JIS Learning Center.
